The upcoming Disney+ series, Ahsoka, is set in the Star Wars universe and stars Rosario Dawson as the character Ahsoka Tano. The premiere of Ahsoka will consist of two episodes, and it has been reported that the combined runtime will be 1 hour, 36 minutes, and 36 seconds. However, the specific duration of each episode is yet to be confirmed. An insider on Twitter, known as CrypticHDQuality, shared this information, though it's important to wait for official confirmation from Disney and Lucasfilm.

The trailer for the series introduced fans to some exciting characters, including Hera Syndulla portrayed by Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Mon Mothma played by Genevieve O'Reilly. But the most significant surprise in the trailer was the appearance of Thrawn, a popular character from the extended Star Wars universe, known for his strategic brilliance and mysterious personality. Thrawn's reintroduction in Star Wars Rebels garnered a massive following and solidified his place as an iconic figure in the Star Wars lore.

Alongside Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren, the name of Anakin Skywalker was also listed, hinting at a potential appearance. Though it's not an official confirmation, fans have been speculating about Hayden Christensen's return as Anakin Skywalker for a while now.

Executive producer Carrie Beck previously highlighted the trio of Ahsoka, Sabine, and Hera as the main protagonists. These three heroines will take center stage, forming the heart and soul of the show while also intertwining their roles in the struggle for freedom across the galaxy. Their strong leadership, resilience, and determination defy traditional gender expectations within the Star Wars universe.

"I think that’s actually one of the reasons why people have loved Ahsoka’s and Sabine’s and Hera’s journey all of this time. Because they had been so prominent as female representation in a space that we don’t get to really see women be like that, to be such leaders, to be finicky, to be headstrong, to be stubborn, and to see how different they are, and how well they come together as a chosen family. It just was really fun to see how that’s only just expanded and grown, and that there’s such a rich history there, and not just because of a desire for more inclusivity or diversity, but because it’s just been inherent to the story that’s been told ever since Dave and Carrie came on board."

Ahsoka is set to release on Disney+ on August 23.
