Ryn then cross paths with Maddie and Ben, who are marine biologists, and they help her in her search while trying to figure out how she could have ended up there. Thus, the protagonists will try to solve this mystery while trying to protect Ryn. There is also a love triangle between the three main characters.
As the following seasons progress, the series touches on a variety of other topics. At least for the second season, Siren has as its main plot focus on marine pollution and its consequences, which, in this case, is the result of oil activities. In addition, the protagonists will have to face other mermaids and human threats.

As the name of this TV show says, the main concept revolves around mermaids. This is something quite different and novel, since, currently, there are not many series about these mythological beings. Part of why it is a shorter series is because it was canceled after its third season. The reason for Siren's cancelation was never made explicitly known. However, it was known that its first season had a very good reception. In fact, it was one of the most-watched series when it premiered in 2019. But, the third season had a very abrupt drop in ratings. So, Freeform, the network that was in charge of producing the series, decided to cancel the project at this point.
It has been a few years since its cancelation. The third season ended in May 2020, and the series was canceled in August of that year. However, there are still users who are proposing that the series have a fourth and final season to close the story.
