- Best TV Series Coming to Max in July 2023
Current
Max, rebranded from HBO Max, is an excellent streaming service for those who want to binge on new TV shows or watch some old favorites that aren't always available on other streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, and others. Max does an excellent job in this regard because it not only produces new movies and series but also brings titles from other licensors on a monthly basis.
In June, for example, it aired various exciting series such as Warrior season 3, Downey's Dream Cars, and Swiping America, providing its users with some enjoyable moments. As if not to disappoint them, the streamer plans to stream more of these shows in July, ranging from documentaries that trace all the way back to a serial killer in the 1990s to a much-anticipated DC animated series. So, without further ado, here are the best TV shows coming to Max in 2023.
Married to Evil (July 3)
Many people would not meet their dream partners after marriage, especially if it was arranged by their parents rather than them choosing one after getting to know them. In the upcoming TV series Married to Evil, a woman named Olivia marries Christopher Jones, a correctional officer who treats his home like a prison.
Only after spending time with him does she understand she has fallen into an abusive lifestyle. And this is just one of the many stories the six-part series will cover. The series will premiere on Max on July 3.
Last Call: When A Serial Killer Stalked Queer New York (July 9)
Serial killers often possess peculiar origins that shape them into psychopaths in the future, and the forthcoming Max series, Last Call, examines a similar notion with a plot twist.
The story takes place in the 1990s when police discover a dismembered body, which leads them to a cold case from the previous year in which the same thing transpired. Upon further investigation, they conclude that the serial killer is hunting homosexual males in New York City and has infiltrated the queer nightlife to carry out these atrocities.
Full Circle (July 13)
Full Circle is a new Max original that blends the crime and mystery genres with a psychological twist. The series, directed by Academy Award winner Steven Soderbergh follows Kristen McCusker (Suzanne Savoy), a woman who receives a call from kidnappers regarding her son's abduction, but they make no mention of a ransom or offer any hints for negotiations.
When Detective Harmony (Zazie Beetz) begins her investigation, she suspects everyone close to Kristen, but to her surprise, everyone appears to be hiding something, which further adds to her suspicions that this is more than simply an abduction case.
The Golden Boy (July 24)
The Golden Boy is an HBO original documentary that will air in two episodes on Max on July 24 and 25. The documentary, directed by Fernando Villena (Any One of Us), tells the story of Oscar De La Hoya, a professional boxer who won an Olympic gold medal at the age of 19.
Following that, he quickly grows to be renowned as the hometown hero of the Mexican-American community in Los Angeles. It will recount events through the words of La Hoya in interviews, delving into his accomplishments and what drove him to success.
Harley Quinn Season 4 (July 27)
Even though the future of live-action DC is questionable after a hard reset, the animated universe is doing better than ever, thanks by large part to the return of Harley Quinn season four. In the previous season, it was revealed that Harley had joined the Bat Family, and Poison Ivy had become the top member of the Legion of Doom.
With Bruce Wayne imprisoned for tax evasion, Batgirl is now the formal leader of the Bat Family. So, in the fourth season, we'll most certainly see some exciting adventures of Batgirl and Harley, as well as Poison Ivy's newest encounters with the Legion of Doom.
Superman & Lois Season 3 (July 28)
Superman & Lois provides a great understanding of Superman's human side through the lens of an authentic family. Furthermore, it allows Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch's chemistry to reflect their romance even better than any Superman & Lois we've seen on TV previously.
In the series, you'll see the world's most popular superhero and a journalist who almost achieved the same level of fame dealing with the difficulties of balancing their lives due to constant troubles in their family and across the world. The third season, which premiered on The CW on March 14, 2023, will shortly be available on Max on July 28, making it a great time to catch up if you haven't already.
These are just a handful of the series that will be added to its extensive library, but when you include the films that will be released in July, the schedule is almost jam-packed. If you're interested in movies coming to Max this July, keep an eye out for 300, The Meg, Rush Hour trilogy, The Descent, and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
