Arcane Season 1 was a smash hit for Netflix, with some of the best audience reviews and responses, according to Forbes. Which is very impressive given the poor reputation of video game adaptations to movies and TV and how they often disappoint fans. Part of that runaway success is due to the stellar animation but another key to the show's appeal is the adaptation of League of Legends characters to the big screen. Most of the game’s roster has a storyline or personality that remains mostly untapped within the game itself due to its focus on competitive multiplayer. Arcane managed to strike gold in bringing the conflicting motivations and strong personalities of the citizens of Piltover and Zaun to the silver screen.

But Runeterra, the world these characters call home, is as vast as it is colorful. From warlike Noxus to cutthroat Bilgewater, there are a lot of places the series left out full of iconic characters. And even if Arcane focused mostly on Piltover and Zaun, there are quite a few characters who have yet to make an in-show appearance. Ultimately, there won’t be room for all of Riot Games's 140 champions, but the show left the door open for several key characters to appear in the next season. Indeed, as we await news of Arcane season 2, here's a look at 6 League of Legends characters we want to see appear in the Annie Award-winning series.

6 Warwick

Warwick is perhaps the most obvious choice for a character to debut insSeason 2. The cyborg werewolf champion in League of Legends calls the dark streets of Zaun his home and has a grudge against the chem-barons. The rage-fueled werewolf is already implied to have a connection to key Arcane characters like Jinx and Vi in the lore of the game. Publications like Polygon have even noted the similarities between the apparently dead Vander and Warwick's backstory, speculating that this could mean that Vander will return for season 2 as the bestial Warwick. Whether he's Vander or not, Warwick is almost certain to make an appearance in the show — and if he is Vander, it would be another emotional wound to both Jinx and Vi to see their foster father turn into a feral wolf-like mutant.

5 Renata Glasc

With the death of series villain Silco at the end of Arcane season 1, there's a power vacuum at the top of the criminal chem-barons of Zaun, and Renata Glasc is a perfect candidate to slip into that void. Renata is an ambitious and cunning gangster who uses chemtech in-game to influence and control people. Not only would Renata be a menacing villain, but also her particular use of chemtech is unique thus far from what we've seen in the show. Renata would also display the shifting of the undercity's leadership after the death of Silco, whereas Silco was primarily interested in Zaun's independence from Piltover, Renata would represent an interest in reaping the profits of chemtech as her ambitions are to become incredibly rich at any cost.

4 Camille

Speaking of villains, Camille represents an opportunity to give audiences a truly threatening antagonist from Piltover rather than Zaun. Camille in the games is an elite agent of the wealthy clans that operate in Piltover and Zaun, and has modified her body with many hextech augmentations that include turning her legs into deadly knives. Camille would be a key player in the politics of Arcane, while also tapping into one of the show's key themes: the power of technology to hurt as well as to help. In addition, one of the show's strengths is displaying the humanity in villains like Silco and giving each character depth and nuance. Season 2 could potentially show another side to the precisely cold and cutthroat cyborg, but at the very least we would get an elegantly ruthless reminder of how callous Piltover can be in the name of progress.

3 Blitzcrank

Blitzcrank is a robot in League of Legends that was built and resides in Zaun, being created to dispose of unsafe waste. Blitzcrank, however, evolved beyond his original programming and was able to begin helping out in the underworld of Zaun. With Blitzcrank Arcane could explore some of the more out there uses of hextech, like the creation of sapient robots. Blitzcrank themselves would also be a welcome presence, as they're more upbeat and wholesome in comparison to the relentless grim nature of the world of Arcane. Despite the potential warmth, they would also present the high drama questions Arcane is used to about the nature of life and technology.

2 Skarner

The crystal scorpion may seem like an odd choice at first, but Skarner and Piltover have a pre-existing connection: Hextech. The technological wonders of Piltover are powered by hex crystals, which are harvested from the Brackern, which are Skarner's people. Skarner's entry into the series would present even more ethical questions about the nature of technology and whether the improvements it gives to peoples lives are worth the exploitation of living beings. His featuring in Arcane would also be well-timed, as he is due for a visual and gameplay rework due to winning the rework poll, according to Riot Games themselves. Skarner is a rather old champion in the game and those champions that are aging often have heavy changes to their visuals or gameplay, so they can see more regular play. What better way to help the old Scorpion see even more play than to feature the new Skarner in Arcane?

1 Ryze

Ryze is in the same camp as Warwick, in that he may or may not have shown up in Arcane already. There is some speculation that the mage who teleported young Jayce from the frozen ice and to safety is in fact the rune mage Ryze. A survivor of the ancient and cataclysmic Rune Wars, Ryze is dedicated to ensuring the most powerful magic from those wars is sealed away so that they don't destroy the world. Even if Ryze isn't the mage who appeared in that flashback sequence, his storyline is very relevant to what's happening in Arcane. When seeing the technology Victor is creating, Heimerdinger makes reference to that destructive conflict. Ryze would also provide a gateway to the more powerful magics and concepts that exist in the League of Legends lore. While we have seen magic, we've yet to see a real mage in the show.
