Who's going to play Mr. Fantastic, The Thing, Sue and Johnny Storm in the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot for the MCU? That's one of the biggest questions of the moments.
Since Marvel Studios first announced they were developing a new Fantastic Four movie to finally include the famous family of superheroes into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans have been wondering who are going to be the chosen ones to don the suits of the popular characters created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, but no information has been confirmed about the casting, especially now that the actors at Hollywood are on strike.
However, speculations, rumors and theories have not been missing on social media, with fans revealing the top choices for the roles and insiders sharing what they hear about the casting process. The most recent reports stated that Vanessa Kirby will be playing Invisible Woman aka Sue Storm, while Stranger Things' Joseph Quinn is the frontrunner to become her brother, Johnny aka the Human Torch. While Doctor Who and House of the Dragon's Matt Smith is rumored to be one of the main contenders to lead the group as Reed Richards, so X user agtdesign10 has shared a fan art uniting the three stars joining forces as their respective characters:
Marvel Studios Really Wants Adam Driver as Reed Richards
Many names have been attached to The Fantastic Four reboot in the last couple of months. From major stars to not so well-known actors and actresses, but there were some that showed up all the time as Marvel Studios' top choices, like the case of Kirby.
As for Reed Richards, Adam Driver has been named more than once or twice, with reports saying that the actor reportedly rejected the part because of the script, and that's why Marvel was working on a new version of the story to still go after the Star Wars star. Now, new information coming from Daniel Ritchman (via X user Fantastic Four Updates) states that once the SAG-AFTRA strike comes to an end, Driver is set to have new meetings with the studio to get the revised script and make a decision.
In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness fans were able to see their dreams coming true after years of asking for John Krasinski playing Mr. Fantastic. In fact, most fans wanted him to join the franchise along with wife Emily Blunt, with the actress playing Sue Storm. However, The Office alum has already confirmed he's not reprising the role, at least not as the official version of Richards for the MCU. That's probably why the studio is looking for another big star to play the role.
Fantastic Four is directed by Matt Shakman, and is set to hit theaters on May 2, 2025.
