In some of her recent interviews for Netflix movie Heart of Stone, Gal Gadot has seemed to suggest that Wonder Woman 3 is actively in some kind of development at DC Studios, with James Gunn and Peter Safran's DCU picking up where Patty Jenkins left off. Now, new reports from Collider and Variety have thrown some serious doubt on the claims, noting that "multiple sources" have confirmed that there is currently no Wonder Woman 3 in any kind of development, and that Paradise Lost, the prequel TV series featuring the Amazonian herione, is currently being developed at the moment. There are no further details available right now, but you can compare this new information with Gadot's original comments below and make up your own mind on the matter.

Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot has revealed that she expects to begin working on Wonder Woman 3 alongside DC Studios CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran. Speaking with ComicBook.com, the Justice League star declared her passion for the character and the project, and teasing plans for Wonder Woman 3 to happen after all.

"I love portraying Wonder Woman. It's so close to and dear to my heart. From what I heard from James and from Peter is that we're gonna develop a Wonder Woman 3 together."

Whether Wonder Woman 3 would be part of the DCU or part of the Elseworlds franchise is unknown, but no doubt there will be many excited to hear that Gal Gadot will once again don the armor of the DC superhero.

While Gadot has teased a possible return as Wonder Woman recently, it has largely been reported that the threequel is no more now that Gunn and Safran have begun work on their rebooted DCU. The news of Wonder Woman 3’s cancelation broke at the end of last year, with director Patty Jenkins and Warner Bros. parting ways.

A script for Wonder Woman 3 had reportedly been completed, but at present we have no idea whether Gadot, Gunn, and Safran will use it as a basis for the sequel, or how the trio will approach bringing Gadot back as the DC character.

Not only has Gal Gadot revealed this promising update on the development of Wonder Woman 3, but she has also now commented on the recasting of Superman. Here’s what Gadot had to say...

"I saw that they were testing, doing different screen tests, but I don't know who got it, but it seemed like everyone was super legit and talented and, like, great. So I'm happy for them. It's such a huge take-on and it's such an exciting beginning to any actor, and I wish whoever it's going to be the best of luck and enjoy the ride."

While we await further updates on Wonder Woman 3, James Gunn and Peter Safran continue to work on the recalibrated DCU. Beginning with Superman: Legacy in 2025, the first chapter of the franchise will include The Brave and the Bold, Swamp Thing, The Authority, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, and more.

As for Gal Gadot, she is gearing up to lead her own action franchise in Heart of Stone. Gadot stars as intelligence agent Rachel Stone, who must embark on a dangerous mission to protect a MacGuffin known as "The Heart."
