Fans of fantasy shows understand that nothing compares to the sheer brilliance of the creativity, breathtaking visuals, gripping plots, fascinating characters, and magical worlds presented in fantastical tales. But beyond the magic, impossibilities and escapism fantasy tales offer, there lies a human story that make them so relatable. It follows the challenges, flaws, victories, and emotional journeys of its characters, albeit in a world that can only be found in fiction. Some of these stories even tackle contemporary issues but in a fictional setting. Despite the incredulity of these worlds and their tales, fantasy shows have a massive appeal, attracting beloved fans who passionately defend these tales and their incredible realms.

Similar to other fantasy series before it, the tale of Geralt of Rivia captured the hearts of many and drew them into Geralt’s world known as the Continent. With Henry Cavill taking the lead role, The Witcher debuted on Netflix in December 2019 and quickly became a major hit, possibly one of the biggest fantasy series on the platform, boasting a large fanbase despite the mixed reviews from critics. Now, with its third season on Netflix since June 29th, the show continues to hold a strong grip on its viewers. For those who can’t get enough of its thrilling world, here are other fantasy shows to explore.
